Today both grades got their math worksheets. 5th grade has mostly memorization of definitions to know for tomorrow's test. 6th grade is still not finished with their protractors and finding area. Both grades did not learn any new lesson Friday, so they have had everything they need since Thursday.

Both grades also received their science study guides today. They had to find characteristics from the textbook for most of the vocabulary words for this week. I turned those characteristics into questions on the study guide. They have known what information we would be covering since Friday.

Heritage studies is going to be a quiz for 6th grade and a test for 5th grade. 6th grade has their study guide. 5th grade got half of it today and we will work on the other half tomorrow.

Slips are going home today about the Fun Day money. The field trip did not require paying for transportation, so some of that money is going to Fun Day events. Those who were on the field trip now owe $5 instead of $10. Those who were not on the field trip must pay the entire $10. The money must be in by Friday.

A notice went home with the students today explaining that this Friday is going to be a half day. School is dismissing at 11 am and there will be no aftercare.

Both grades received their science study guides today. They will have a quiz on the information Thursday.

Both grades also received the first half of their heritage studies' study guides today. We will go over that part and work on the second part after reading the lesson tomorrow.

Math tests are tomorrow. Friday the 6th graders received a worksheet explaining their math lessons. Today the 5th graders got a worksheet explaining their lessons.

Progress reports are going home this week. There are only 4 weeks of school left after this week is over.

Things were a little different this week due to no school Monday and the 5th graders taking their state tests.

Wednesday, both grades had an open book math worksheet that counted for a smaller test grade. The received the practice worksheets Tuesday and we spent time reviewing.

Yesterday the 5th graders had an open book science "test" that only covered the vocabulary they got before the Easter break. 6th graders had a partially openbook test where they had only a certain amount of time that was open book. Today, the 6th graders also completed an openbook comprehension check for a grade.

The heritage studies tests were today. We reviewed the info for 6th grade and they had a few minutes of openbook time for the test. The 5th graders had to complete two openbook worktext pages for a grade and then were allowed to use their study guides to answer 10 short answer questions.

Next week will mostly be back to normal except for the field trip. We will still continue with our regular schedule for science and heritage studies and will only have one less day for a math lesson.
