Another week is finished and with only one week left in October, it's nice for it to finally feel a little more like fall!
Both grades had their heritage studies tests today. We will pick up in learning new lessons on Monday.
Both grades also completed their science vocabulary in class today. On Monday, we will begin learning the lessons and have the official study guide.
6th grade learned a new math lesson today but 5th grade did not. Yesterday, 5th grade received a packet or practice work that I wrote up. We continued working on it today and will wrap up our practice problems on Monday before the test Tuesday. Both grades took the openbook math test again to count as a separate grade worth half the points. After the students worked on them for a little while, we went over one or two problems from each section for them to make sure they got it right. All of the students should have finished everything and done it all the right way. This is meant to be an extra grade to help them.
Next week is Red Week. The students received a slip of paper explaining everything that they can participate in for next week. We will be decorating our door, so some students may have to bring in small props or supplies to help with that.
